-THROWBACK OLD OLD ART: Megacollages of 1990

Circa 1988, Ward innovated MegaCollage ---wall-sized collages made from billboard pieces rather than the usual newspaper/magazine clippings. Ward meant to push collage beyond its traditional page-sized scale. (The phrase was published in local media and in Ward's 1991 thesis; circa 2004 an unrelated commercial website named itself MegaCollage.com )

Pieces above: made circa 1990, ruined circa 1995 due to storage site flooding, respectfully burned circa 1998. Exhibited at Kline Gallery, Demming Alternative Space, Sawhill Gallery. These pieces are from before Ward's creation of the true OmniDirectional paintings, though compositionally these could have hung upside-down. There is some stylistic continuity from this earlier artwork to Ward's current production.
